Site Training & Online Reporting Instructions for Students

  • The program has been developed short i.e. for 12 Working Days (from 8th Dec to 21st Dec 2010), so that you students should not feel bother of missing your vacations. The Field Training is a part of University Curriculum. The participation & completion of the program is MUST for every student to be qualified for BE.
  • On Successful Completion of the program, you will get a Training / Work Experience Certificate from CREDAI & DYPCET, which will help you in your job interviews and future works.
  • www.profiip.blogspot.com will only be the platform to do reporting of your training work and get instructions from college. No notices will be put on notice board. This is done to encourage you students, to use internet extensively for reporting purpose, which will help you in your future professional lives.
  • Pre-training Workshop is scheduled at 3:00PM on 7th Dec 2010, in the college. Presenty is must for the same.
  • To promote SITE SAFETY and for safety of your own, DYPCTE & CREDAI has made it compulsory to use Site Helmets & Shoes on site. If any student found not following the regulation, the respective Site In-Charge, can send him/her back to home for the day and the respective day will not be counted at the time of assessment.
  • Students have to carry with them, the Mantri Publication Book, A to Z of Building Construction, one copy per site group. You have to get the book signed on the Pre-Training Workshop Day. Your site group should refer the book to plan, detail out & execute allotted work.
  • Students have to submit 100/- which include cost of Safety Helmet (which will remain with student forever), Certificate Cost, and part of DYPCET-CREDAI Program Cost. Students must submit the amount to Prof. Imran I. Pathan, when he is available in his cabin, BEFORE 30th Nov 2010, 3:00PM. One Site Group must submit the amount at one time. No individual payments will be accepted. Failure in submission on time, will disqualify the respective student for the training program.
  • Safety Helmets will be distributed at the time of Pre-Training Workshop. Certificates will be distributed in a get together ceremony of DYPCTE & CREDAI in January 2011.
  • Students must submit an undertaking on Pre-Training Workshop Day i.e. 7th Dec 2010. (One original + One Xerox copy). Format of the same can be downloaded from the blog.
  • Reporting MUST be done on DAILY basis via a FORM provided in the blog. In theSUBJECT fieldof the form, you must type YOUR EXAM NUMBER (Not roll no.)-WORKING DAY NUMBER. E.g. If your exam number is 14786 and your working day is 3RD, you must type just 14786-3 (withought any space) at the subject field in the form. You are advised to do the reporting immediately after you leave the site, so that you will get evening free to hang around with friends. Fill the entire details of the form correctly, as it is an online submission, once done, you will not get a second chance to rectify. Your assessment will be majorly based on this online submission you do. As you submit the form, one copy of the same will be send to you on your given email id in the form. You have to keep those received emails. On completion of the program, you have to take printoutsof those 12 emails and include it into your Final Training Submission. So simple !
  • On day one (8th Dec 2010, 11:00 AM SHARP), Site Group Students, TOGETHER, have to report to the Owner / Managing Partner / Director of the respective Construction Firm at his office (The details of which is attached herewith). The Owner / Managing Partner / Director will allot them the site/sites and the Site In-charge whom they have to report on daily basis. On successful completion of the program, after 12 working days, students will meet the Owner / Managing Partner / Director again & take his/her sign on program completion format. Only Owner / Managing Partner / Director can sign the program completion form.
  • Students must report on the site at 9:00AM and can only leave the site after 4:00PM. In-between, they are not allowed to go out of the site. Firstly students will report to Site In-charge and has to take reporting sign & time from the In-charge. Then the In-charge will assign them the daily work. Once the daily allotted work done, the In-charge will assess & remark it. At the time of leaving, after 4:00PM, students have to take sign & time from the In-charge.Special Time Log format can be downloaded and used from the blog.
  • With the help of In-charge, students has to fix a station point at site, and from the same point with the same angle, on daily basis, they have to take daily progress photographs of the site in group. Students are also encouraged at the site to take photographs of the work activities allotted to them. These photos must be a part of final field training submission.
  • No remuneration, incentive, food or even drinking water will be given to students by the site.Food Tiffin, Water Bottle, Helmet, Cap, Measurement Tape, Bye Law Book etc have to be carried by the students by their own.
  • Training program expects Observing, Planning, Execution & thereby Self-Learning from the students. Students should not expect spoon feeding guidance from the site in-charge.
  • From college’s Side, Prof. Imran Pathan will visit the individual site during the program, on unplanned basis, to take the feedback from the Site In-Charges & assess the work done by students.
  • The Instructions regarding how to do Final Field Training Submission will be displayed in the blog during training program. To keep updated regarding new announcements in the blog via email, become a follower of the blog.
  • Details of the companies i.e. Contact Person, Address, Phone Numbers etc. will be supplied to you at Pre-Training Workshop with a reporting letter, which will help you introduce to the companies while you approach them.
  • Important Dates : 30th Nov (Last Date of Payment), 7th Dec (Pre-Training Workshop), 8th Dec (Company Reporting for Training), 21st Dec (Last Day of Training)
  • You students can to share the photographs taken on your respective construction sites using PICASA Online Photo Sharing Facility. You can see the pics shared by the students, at the bottom of this blog. If you have given your emails correctly, you will receive an email from my side, asking for Album Contribution. Using the same you can upload your pics and those will be displayed on the blog and will be visible to all. Only site related photographs you can share. Although pics of work at the same time your fun moments on site will do !
  • BUZZ Word : You will receive a SMS, containing a 'Construction Buzz Word of the Day' on your Registered Mobile Number, in the morning, every day, during your training. You just need to keep that word / phrase in your mind. Discuss / Brainstorm it in your site group and with your site seniors. Whatever technical, non-technical, commercial etc information you can gather during the day, you have to briefly record the same. e.g. Buzz Word 'CEMENT' : Check out the brand, grade, manufacturing date, manufacturer, weight per bag, rate, supplier etc. Whatever info you can gather about the Buzz Word, type it & submit online.
  • RATE ANALYSIS : Observe & Perform Actual On-Site Rate Analysis (Including all Material, Labor etc costs) for following construction works, being done or planned at your site. Do this analysis in Group but report online individually :
    • Day 1 - PCC (Rate per cu.m.),
    • Day 2 - RCC Column (Rate per cu.m.),
    • Day 3 - RCC Beam (Rate per cu.m.),
    • Day 4 - RCC Slab (Rate per cu.m.),
    • Day 5 - Brickwork (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 6 - Internal Plaster (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 7 - External Plaster (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 8 - Tiling (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 9 - Internal Painting (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 10 - External Painting (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 11 - Fully Complete Window (Rate per sq.m.),
    • Day 12 - Fully Complete Door (Rate per sq.m.)
    • NOTE : Take only one work for analysis for the day if you have multiple same kind of works on your side. Provide Brief Technical Specifications like Mix Design 1:2:4 etc & Provide Detailed Rate Analysis.
  • Students are advised to take care of their belongings like Mobile Phone, Laptop, Camera carefully while working on site.

NOTICE : Confirmation Email sent to your registered email IDs

Dear Students

Those, who have submitted required Undertaking & Payment for the Training Program, the confirmation email has been sent to them.
  • If you have submitted undertaking & Payment, but still not have received the email, you have provided an incorrect email ID. Provide the correct email ID, as earliest.
  • If you have not yet registered, do the same before 30th Nov 2010, 3:00pm. In case of failure to do so, you will be disqualified for the program and will not be allowed to attain the next semester.

NOTICE : For Students appearing for Back Log Papers

The students, who are appearing for their back log university exams are granted following leaves, only if they fulfill the formalities required for the grant.
  1. Leave granted for Examination Day (1 Day)
  2. Leave granted for One Prior Day of such Examination (1 Day)
  3. More than this, 2 Days leave per Paper, no leave will be granted and such students must undergo the training with other students for remaining days.

Formalities required to be completed for such Leave Grant :
  1. A formal typed letter addressing to HOD Sir for request of leave sanction.
  2. Xerox copy of Hall Ticket showing the back log subjects, attached to the request letter.
  3. Payment of Training costs with the Site Group.
  4. Submission of enlisted documents to Prof. Imran Pathan

On completion of the formalities, subjected to the decision taken by the HOD Sir, leave will be granted and respective company will be informed about the same.
